The Ledyard Equestrian Style & Approach

For nearly thirty years I have made my living in the horse business as a judge, trainer, competitor, coach and now as an author. I have been blessed to work with so many wonderful students and horses, many of whom have ridden with me for years. Safety and details are at the forefront of my disciplined approach. I do my very best to coach in such a way that lifts a person up, approaching the horse and rider as a pair of athletes, giving them the respect they deserve.

Feel good about reaching out to Ledyard Equestrian. I promise I will do everything I can to
keep you safe, having fun and helping you and your horse become your absolute best.

  • Shane Ledyard Clinics

    broken image

I offer two types of clinics

In the traditional style clinic I evaluate you and your horse and teach you from my perspective as a coach and trainer. With this clinic, I mix in a little bit of the judge's perspective as well. I take what I have learned in thirty years in the horse business and make you and your horse better. I can quickly find ways to help you improve your riding and your system that will build your confidence. I specialize in helping riders with anxiety and uncertainty as well by giving you proven techniques for your confidence. I love what I do and I guarantee you will be satisfied with the results. Scores of references available upon request.

    Judge's Perspective Clinic

These clinics are from the judge's perspective. Having a daughter that rides and being a competitor myself, I totally undrestand the frustrations that go along with showing in the hunters and equitation.

I will show you how to take advantage of the things most riders miss and give you an edge when you compete. In this clinic, we do a horse show format on the flat and/or over fences and I give you a sense of what your "score" would be if you were actually competing. We go over ways to bring your score up and also delve into the scoring system itself. It is a fun, crowd-inclusive clinic where trainers and parents can get in on the discussion. This is a lot of fun!

Call or text me at 267-446-8392 or email me at shane@shaneledyard.com to learn more or to set up a clinic.
